This Tourism Month, weโre continuing our My Cape Town series to celebrate local communities. This week, we explore Khayelitsha, a community shaped by its people, stories and local energy.
Taking us around is Buntu Matole, co-founder of ABCD Concepts, based in Khayelitsha. Together with his team, they create community-led experiences that connect communities across Langa and Khayelitsha.
โKhayelitsha is worth exploring. It has culture, history, entrepreneurship, the movement, the heritage, the people.โ
And thereโs no better way to experience it than through the people who know and love the community.

๐โจ Stories can bring joy anywhere even in a hospital ward.
The Isivivana Centre Library was honoured to join Khayelitsha Public Library at Khayelitsha District Hospital, bringing books, storytelling and smiles to young patients. โค๏ธ
We were invited by Khayelitsha Public Library and warmly welcomed by Paediatrician Dr Natasha OโConnell and the hospital team.
Together, we shared stories, encouraged children to read and reminded parents that reading starts at home๐
We are grateful to be part of the 1 000 Stories Before School literacy campaign and to contribute to creating a culture of reading in our community.
