We’re thrilled to welcome VOLK to our Dark Notes Tiny Concert Series on 10 June. This alternative Afrikaans trio is hot off the mark after the release of their debut album ‘Na Twaalf’ last year.
They’ve already developed something of a cult following after hitting some of the biggest festivals in 2025. Bodene McKibbin of Backseat Mafia said of VOLK’s performance at Mieliepop Festival that it exuded ‘swagger, sexiness, and flawless sound’ and ‘a performance that was consistently electric’.
Lyrical and poetic, VOLK’s music moves with a dynamic charisma that’s impossible to ignore. Don’t miss them at the next Dark Notes.
Show starts at 7 and tickets are R250 – or, if you really want to make a night of it, book your two-course, pre-show dinner at The Black Sheep across the road for only R200 more.
Bookings at Quicket. Link in our bio.

145darkhorse Our first Dark Notes of the season opens Tuesday 26 May with harmonica player extraordinaire Lonesome Dave
Ferguson.
Ferguson is a one-man, lo-fi, hi-impact explosion of trans-blues and country-dub. His solo show uses only
harmonica, human beat-box and vocals, recording live loops and then layering and building those loops to construct a song ...
Expect the grooviest of beats to go with your winter-warmer cocktails.
R250 per ticket, or if you really want to make the most of the night, book your two-course, pre-show dinner at The Black Sheep across the road for only R200 more.
Bookings at Quicket.

It’s time ! Another ‘dark notes’ tiny concert… the last for this winter, we had such a good time with these two legends last time around we decided to do it all over again !
Laudo Liebenberg and Frank Freeman started their musical collaboration when they did the critically acclaimed production EET KREEF! Herleef together in 2019. After successfully touring this production and receiving a KykNet Fiesta award for best musical production, they’re now coming together to do a special stripped down show made up out of music from both of their respective personal projects as well as stripped down arrangements of the EET KREEEF! Herleef production. Fresh arrangements of Laudo’s well known aKING material as well as his solo projects & stripped down arrangements of Frank’s alternative group VOLK’s material, form a show that blends the old and the new in a very intimate and raw manner.
Tickets are R250 for the concert or if you feel like a Black Sheep Dinner before hand you can buy a ticket for dinner and the show for R450.
Tickets are limited so if you are keen don’t delay, tickets available on Quicket (link in our bio)
