Dearest Gentle Reader
The month of May has departed and moved swiftly into June....can you believe that we are halfway to Christmas again?
Returning to the current or very near history....
We launched our very own Gatsby challenge and even though we had a rumble from the crowds as to if infact it is legitimate.....I can assure you it meets all the criteria....according to Wikipedia at least. Jaco battled the beast for 25 minutes but had to throw in the towel and admit defeat. This writer would however like to point out that this challenge is not for the fainthearted and I have it in the loop that he will once again put his money where his mouth is and take on this beast.....this first Sunday cometh. Maybe the most recent blue moon will count in his favor.....
Our 2nd comedy night was a blast as always....too many laughs made for a painful stomach the day after. Ben Helme stole the prize for the best amateur comedian on his brief visit from a country far far away.
Bingo was once again enjoyed by all but sadly it was our last for a while.....tedious paperwork that this writer knows nothing about but will gladly inform you once the powers of the papers settle.
Birthdays were celebrated in true style by all patrons....even those from the next town over.
Our monthly quiznight was hosted by Big G and made for a splendid quizical night enjoyed by all
The one and only guitar maestro Mr Craig Vee Craig Vee himself graced us with a stellar performance which left us all in awe 😜 humming good old tunes like whiskey and rye......
Getting away from myself again....We also had the kingdom of Windhoek bestow a grand prize on sir Ashley for supporting their specific keg with such enthusiasm 😀 well done Ashley Cornelius 👏
From the kitchen the feast rolled out daily with great tempo and this writer has it on good authority that a few patrons belt buckles might need some adjustment soon.... Feed Me Val

Dearest Gentle Reader,
We swarayed our way through April like the proverbial bell of the ball, unable to miss out on just one more ....
One of our oldest and.......joking, dearest and nearest was diagnosed with the Big C and wanted to host a fundraiser for kids with cancer and what a splendid event it turned out to be.
Gallant gents came from all 4 corners of the kingdom to have their ears lowered and might I add 2 fine dames too. (A HUGE bow to Mornei de Villiers Vanessa Willis-Schoeman )
The rest settled on crowns of glitter and sparkles and even some neon with the help of our very own Bella and Mia ❤️
This writer is very pleased to say that the patrons of this fine raised enough for the telly, the Playstation and the breaky, lunch and snacks for the cancer kids to make their lives just a bit more entertaining ❤️❤️
We would also like to bravo our Italian patriots for inventing Il Giuoco del Lotto d'Italia so we could bring back the much loved game of Bingo... which could be and will be echoed across the town of Somerset on each and every first Wednesday of the Month!
Snafu nafu rocked the palace like only they could and made many a lady miss their curfew...
As to be expected we got quizical with our quizmaster Natasha Malherbe t and the usual suspects were crowned king's and runners up. I ask you.... is there anybody else???
We had a trip around the world enjoying the various cuisines along the way....it sat very well on this writers pallet.
Without further a do this writer must bid the farewell, with a full belly and an even fuller heart.
