Grass-fed beef, fermented pizza dough, wholesome ingredients and food cooked the proper way - with tallow, unless sunflower oil is requested.

At Zeke’s, how we cook matters just as much as what we cook.
We source our ingredients from farmers and suppliers who do things the right way — animals raised on pasture, shaped by the seasons, and finished when nature allows.
No antibiotics.
No unnecessary nasties.
Just properly raised meat and wholesome ingredients.
Our food is cooked in tallow, the traditional way food has been prepared for generations.
( Seed oils are only used on request )
Because when you start with real ingredients, the food speaks for itself 🍔🍕🥩

The now… and what’s next ✨
In 2024, Layla & Garth took the reins with a vision:
to honour the past, evolve the present, and dream boldly into the future.
Thus, The Khaya – Pizza & Burger Joint was born.
Over the last two years, we’ve been learning, refining, and re-imagining — asking ourselves how we want this space to feel, taste, and serve its community.
And now… a new chapter is calling.
A revamp. A rebrand. A fresh season ahead.

A Season of Growth | 2019–2024
In December 2019, Pizza Khaya was passed on to Dillan and Michael, Tbo’s stepson and close friend - fresh university graduates stepping into big shoes during uncertain times.
From renovations to lockdowns, load shedding to learning the ropes of the service industry, they poured everything they had into keeping Pizza Khaya alive and thriving.
Through grit, heart, and deep respect for the brand, they carried it through rough seas - strengthening its place in the Glencairn community and preparing it for its next chapter.
A true labour of love.

Where it all began. The Original Khaya | 2009–2019
Pizza Khaya began in 2009, founded by Glencairn local Thibaud “Tbo” de K**k — a Cordon Bleu–trained chef with a deep love for honest food and community.
What started as a small, beach-front khaya became so much more than a pizzeria. With hand-kneaded dough, carefully crafted sauces, and flavours rooted in South African soul, Tbo created a space where locals gathered, connected, and felt at home.
Pizza Khaya was never just about pizza — it was about people. And that legacy will never be forgotten.
RIP Tbo. Your love, wisdom, and passion still live on
