Today I missed home a little more than usual. ❤️

So I went into my small kitchen and cooked the kind of food that raised me… soft pap, lamb chops on the pan, smoky boerewors, and garlic-infused tomato stew slowly bubbling on the stove.

The smell alone took me back.

Back to noisy homes, cold evenings, laughter in the background, and plates made with love even when there wasn’t much. Sometimes food is more than food… sometimes it’s memory, comfort, healing, and home all at once.

People see the chef, the plating, the fine dining, the luxury experiences… but moments like these remind me why I started cooking in the first place.
