Yesterdayโs unexpected power outage left many businesses without electricity. Thanks to our solar installation, Cafe 1865 continued serving coffee, breakfast and lunch without interruption.
A heartfelt thank you to the winter sun for shining when we needed it most, and to the professional team at ASM Line SOLAR for designing, installing and maintaining a solar system that performed exactly as it should when we needed it most.
Some heroes prefer to stay in the background. Yesterday, the sun was one of them. โ๏ธ๐

One of the most common requests weโve received recently has been for longer Saturdays. More time for breakfast, more time for lunch, more time for drinks, pizza and catching up with friends.

Our Winter 2026 Menu has arrived at Cafe 1865 โจ
This season brings comforting flavours, Eastern European touches and a few beautiful new additions across the menu.
Whatโs new?
โข Our Benedicts are now served on our signature Potato & Cheddar Waffles.
โข Two warming soups have joined the menu:
โ Traditional Eastern European Borsch
โ Fusion Butternut Soup with coconut cream, peanut and green chilli
โข Weโve added two beautiful new salads, including a traditional Russian Olivier Salad with our own twist.
โข Also new on the menu โ our Sweet Biltong Pizza.

The storm has passed, but the cozy season is just beginning at Cafe 1865 โจ
Inside itโs warm, glowing, and full of comfort โ our big pizza oven keeping the cafรฉ beautifully toasty, the fireplace ready on the veranda, hot coffee pouring, and comforting food coming out fresh all day.
Cold outside, warm inside โ just the way winter moments should feel.
And soon weโll be sharing our updated winter menu โ with all your favourites still there, alongside a few comforting seasonal touches to make the colder days feel even cozier.
