If I had a magic wand I would wave it so that African funding ecosystem particularly in South Africa changes.
Most entrepreneurs feel like they are on an uphill battle. I am one of them.
Hardwork can only take you so far in business. What then must accompany hardwork is access to capital for entrepreneurs to grow their solution to impact those whose business aims to help.
I got to business 9 years ago, not because I loved entrepreneurship but because I needed to survive.
I started my business with the little I had (a R150 and a bicycle), 12 hours later I went to university to tell them I am dropping out.
The first year of trading in business I sold one bag of coffee for R220 that's it.
But I never gave up.
Years later what started as a pipe dream grew into a multimillion rand company.
I did not take any salary for years and invested every cent I made to grow the business.
Now that's hardwork, but it is not enough.
African lawmakers must understand that small businesses need capital deployment, not a R20 000, which is $1000, but real capital that will allow the businesses they are building to grow.
To get to where my business is has taken its toll on me in an unbelievable fashion.
It's a price one pays because I believe in the dream and the impact my organization has.
Again, African funding ecosystem should not pride itself in not growing the next generation of entrepreneurs but it must pride itself in contributing to the development of the entire continent.
Entrepreneurs do not need acceleration programs, incubation programs. No, they need capital deployment. They already understand the problem and the market they are operating in.
When the day comes that I am able to succeed I will make it a point that I invest in the next generation of entrepreneurs not through programs but through capital.
Something is not right that's why we are so behind and looking as the entire world passes us by.

The Role
We’re looking for an experienced content creator to join us and help shape how the world sees, hears, and feels CoffeeMM. You’ll own our social content from concept to post — think Reels, TikTok, photos, captions, and community vibes.
You’ll Be Responsible For:
Planning and producing engaging content for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook.
Spotting and jumping on trends that fit our brand voice.
Analyzing what’s working — track insights, engagement, and growth.
Building our social media footprint and online community.
Collaborating on campaigns, launches, and brand moments.
Requirements:
