“Now I am a new person... My life changed the moment I walked through the doors of The Message Trust. The mentorship and focus on Jesus has pushed me to believe in a future for myself and my course mates.”
This is what Gangstar Café is all about — creating opportunities, restoring hope and showing that your past doesn’t define your future.

It’s been a BIG two weekends for our Gangstar Events team! From early starts to busy event spaces, our team served thousands of cups of coffee across two conferences — creating moments of testimony, serving with excellence and bringing the Gangstar experience wherever we go.
A huge shoutout to every team member who made it happen! Coffee. Events. Training. That’s Gangstar Events.

What people say
Gangstar Cafe, located on Main Road in Cape Town, is a coffee shop with a unique and inspiring story. The cafe prides itself on offering the best possible coffee with a clean Bean to Cup process, ensuring that customers not only enjoy a good cup of coffee but also challenge the status quo.
What sets Gangstar Cafe apart is their focus on providing employment and training opportunities for previously incarcerated youth. The name "Gangstar" was inspired by a verse in the Bible, which speaks about becoming blameless and pure in a warped and crooked generation, shining like stars in the sky. Through years of working with youth in prison and gang-ridden communities, Gangstar Cafe saw a desperate need to provide a platform for young people to fulfill their God-given potential.
Since launching their first cafe on Mowbray main road in April 2017, Gangstar Cafe has expanded to include another location in Durbanville Town Centre. The cafe provides both training and employment for youth who may have difficulty finding work due to high unemployment rates and criminal records.
Not only does Gangstar Cafe offer an inspiring story and purpose-driven mission, but they also serve delicious coffee made with care and attention to detail. Customers can feel good knowing that their purchase supports a worthy cause while enjoying a great cup of coffee. Overall, Gangstar Cafe offers an unforgettable experience that combines great coffee with social impact.
