Celebrating Our Foster Families

A day filled with laughter, love, connection, and beautiful memories!

On 24 September 2026, Badisa Tygerberg had the privilege of hosting a special Foster Care Appreciation Day, bringing our wonderful foster families together for a fun-filled day of activities, stronger family bonds and simple togetherness.

The day was all about celebrating the importance of family, togetherness and positive family values. It was a opportunity for foster parents and children to spend quality time together, create special memories and remind one another that the little moments we share often mean the most.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make this day so special:

* Full Gospel Church, Ravensmead for making the venue available to us
* Amanda Swanepoel for taking the time to share with us
* Hoop - Bok Radio Community Project for your much-appreciated donation

A special thank you to Kaylin, our final-year social work student, for all the planning, thought and effort that went into making the day a success, and to our wonderful colleagues who contributed their time and helped make everything come together.

And most importantly, to our foster parents: THANK YOU!

Behind every foster care journey is a story of love, patience, commitment and hope. We are deeply grateful to our foster parents who open not only their homes, but also their hearts. Thank you for the love you give, the patience you show, the challenges you face and the countless little things you do every day to make a child feel safe, valued and loved. Your role is so important, and we hope this day reminded you just how much you are appreciated. Your love and dedication make a meaningful difference in the lives of the children entrusted to you.
