Hi everyone! Rumsy’s Noose is going on a break for a little while. Our noble scout, Kaiser, was regrettably diagnosed with degenerative myelopathy last year, an untreatable paralytic condition that will sadly worsen unpredictably over time. He has been one of the great shining stars of our universe ever since we adopted him seven years ago, and in his magnificent prime, he prowled and ranged across every mountain he could, slurping from icy water streams in Silvermine, questing through the emerald ravines of Table Mountain, and adventurously slipping into the foamy surf of our meandering coastlines. As a young couple, he expanded our sensorium and gave us the beginnings of our fascination with wilderness lore and the woodland stride. So, as much as we love our weekend baking marathons, we would prefer to take some time off to be with this good boy in his twilight years. We will continue to post updates from our kitchen experiments, and will see you in the future, bearing armfuls of sticky, sweet, candy-coloured vegan treats. Peace x

Rums and Ponzu, staring dreamily into each other's eyes... or perhaps this is just a rare peaceful encounter moments before they descend into another episode of sibling swiping and playful pawing! Either way, these two are our Valentines and are here two announce that we are taking orders for this Val's Day, SUNDAY the 14th of February. It’s been a long, time-warp of a year and it’s lurching to a close. To celebrate, we are doing a final round of doughnut-making on Christmas eve (the 24th), featuring some Decembery things like gingerbread custard-filled doughnuts and homemade mince pies whose interiors are jammed with spoonfuls of fruit-mince that have been soaking in brandy for a full year. Our famous pumpkin pie with chai glaze and gingersnap doughnuts are back on the menu, and we’re keeping our new cardamom pistachio buns with rosewater glaze on too. Hi everyone! we are fully booked out this coming Saturday, so unfortunately cannot accommodate any more personal orders. We will be back at the in Constantia on the 25th, though, so you can visit us then and gather up a few armfuls of sticky, glazed rings. New vegan treats incoming! these cardamom, pistachio and rosewater buns will be for sale at the this Saturday. They are the latest sibling to our usual vanilla and salted caramel pecan cinnamon rolls, and they have a "delightful Turkish" flavour to them, if you catch my drift. If you are one of those people who don’t like Turkish delight, please report to the headmaster’s office immediately.
We still have some spaces open for preorders, so if you’d like to ensure you get your hands on some drippy vegan doughnuts this weekend, please have a look at our menu and get in touch. Peace x

Many of you have had the dubious honour of being borked at by our protective little pavement jackal, Ponzu. Like many of her siblings in our four-legged menagerie, she goes by many nommes de guerre, including Ponnington, Ponichiwa, Ponny, Poopy, Detective Snoopington and Zu Biscuit. We adopted Ponzu from the Animal Anti-Cruelty League () in early 2019, shortly after she had been plucked off the streets of Kuils River. Ponzu was diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia which meant she couldn’t run properly as a puppy and often used to whistle-cry with pain in the evenings. Secretly, we began to save up money from our Rumsy’s Noose orders to help fund a hip replacement surgery for this whiskered brat. Well, it’s many moons later and we’re pleased to say Ponzu is completely recovered: she’s a happy, bouncing, squirrel-hunting, amphibious alsatian who loves to gulp up fresh mountain air and pounce on the odd crumpled leaf. I’m sure Ponzu would like to personally deliver a face-slurp of thank-yous to all our customers who supported us over the years and helped fund her surgery. Thank you from us, too! Peace x
