The "national state of disaster" has been extended to April 15th, 2022. When entering SA, it is mandatory to produce a negative PCR test. If you have recently recovered from covid and you continue to test positive, you can apply for an exemption (only applicable for fully recovered travellers and for people who intend to travel within 90 days of the initial PCR confirming infection). Email: [email protected]. You have to include a copy of your passport, the PCR test that confirmed infection as well as a letter from your GP confirming that you have fully recovered, that you do not have new symptoms and that you are fit to travel. Letter from the GP has to include your name+surname, date, signature and contact details of the GP. Remember: processing takes time, so hand this in well in advance.
