Some moody scenes around our zone lately.
As winter settles in, we seem to appreciate a good cup of coffee just that much more.
Big shout out to all our new and old faces who hang out with us in our new space and support our craft.
Tomorrow evening, June 4th, will be celebrating one year of First Thursdays down at the farm, and we'll be cranking our roaster for anyone interested in checking the process.
Hopefully see ya'll tomorrow.

Fresh beans and sit down smiles to kick start our week.
It's such a treat being able to seat our customers. That morning light coming into the farm and our chimney going makes us feel pretty nostalgic. A sunny winters morning like this we could get used to.
Happy new week and new month coffee family. See you at soon x

Each order packed is dealt with care by our small team. Big time thank you for our loyal coffee family who keep us roasting.
Fresh off the press this week has been a lovely African and South American fusion - creating a gentle all rounder taste profile. Hints of chocolate with low acidity always keeping that 'more-ish' vibe.
As always, we are here seven days a week ready welcome anyone fancying a taste.
Yours truly,
Coffee Guy

When we are roasting we are focusing. One hand ready to drop the beans and the other ready to let the new ones in.
One eye on the flame and the other on the bean.
There is a science to roasting, but we often use our senses to know when is exactly the right time to drop the beans out. We feel that's where the magic lies. In the experience we have in roasting, our sense of smell, sight and hearing play a huge roll in getting the blends just right.
25/05/2026
Each week, sometimes each day, we are roasting up different beans and exploring more tastes.
As we have been slowly perfecting our own taste profile on our House Blend, we are always looking at what beans will provide similar tasting experiences.
Both the natural world and the general stock market of the coffee industry are changing right under our noses, making consistency a tricky thing when roasting coffee. But we aren't here for consistency. We enjoy adapting to what is changing around us and as a small artisanal roastery, we are creating the best quality coffee we can get our hands on.
Come on down to our little home this week and see whats on offer at our machine, or bagged and ready to go.

Amongst the olive tree is where you'll find us.
On one of Cape Town's oldest operating farms in the deep south. Sharing space with our fellow local creators and eateries.
Come by this weekend to taste what's been on the roast lately.

A motto we live by in our Roastery.
It is a privilege to to be crafting our finest for all to enjoy.
Over the years we have developed our coffee 'language' - a taste and a smell that can be recognised and appreciated by our community.
There are many brews that hit the palette with a sharp taste, a unique and pungent aroma. Sometimes these strong blends require an acquired taste or an experienced tongue.
We can appreciate these wonders that this plant can bring, but we have been on a mission to bring our coffee family something smooth, easy to drink and more-ish. We love this combination as it brings the joys of good coffee to a wider audience.
If anything, we want the epic people who choose to drink our coffee to feel good, content with a hint of wanting more. Even if you can't describe it, we hope you can enjoy each cup to the fullest.
Yours truly,
Coffee Guy

Last week our team cupped our current beans, lead by Mike from , to make sure we are getting the most out of each bean.
A cupping is where freshly roasted and ground coffee is placed in a cup, hot water poured in, and the most natural way to brew coffee occurs. The coffee slowly falls to the bottom, allowing for all the aromas to come out.
One uses a spoon to quickly slurp the coffee and let your taste buds do the rest. It takes a pretty good nose and tongue to pick up on all the nuances, and then provide advice on how to better the roast.
It is so helpful to have our suppliers come in and taste what we are doing with the beans they bring in. All to make sure we can bring your the best possible coffee we can make.
Yours truly,
Coffee Guy

Always got an eye on the pot o gold.
We have our ways and methods of roasting and a lot of the magic comes with a watchful eye. As we slowly see the green beans turn to golden brown, we know just the right time to let em out and hear that sensational snap crackle pop!

Our new factory space feeling good.
As we continuously perfect our House Blend, we are offering a variety of single origins to taste and to buy. Often, these single origins are found in our blends, but it is truly special to taste each region on their own.
Make sure to look out for the white sticker on the bags to see where each bean is from. Our team is full of fun facts too, so don't be shy to ask questions.
Pop in tomorrow for our first ever First Thursday down at
Happy roasting!

If you want to get a glimpse at the action, come down early for a squiz. We like getting going early, so our beans have time to cool and soak up all their flavour.

Perfectly framed and resting on its perch.
First few rounds of roasting feeling good in the new zone. We love winter for many reasons, but recently we love the warmth of the roaster on these colder days.
New location - Imhoff Farm, Kommetjie 7am - 4pm.
20/04/2026
We love being closer to the sea, and amongst all the other local traders of the Imhoff farm. Feeling very much like home and we are stoked!
Our original factory in Fish Eagle park still remains, for bulk packing and our local clients in that area, so anyone can visit there anytime.
But we are mainly here, seven days a week. So pop in for a tour and flat white. We have some new things on the roast and on the grind, an epic and calm atmosphere with good people all around.
Much love and see you soon

The golden liquid we all know and love.
We really appreciate a good espresso. The right bean, the right grind and the right time.
This is often how we test our quality of blends, by pouring a few espresso's and taste testing and getting the right grind consistency.
In so many cases, the beans are not used to their full potential because of grinders or machines.
This is why we like to be hands on with our clients who run cafe's and check in on their machines to make sure everyone is pulling the best espresso possible.

Winter may be approaching but we still loving the last rays of sun down at the beach! Make sure to pop down for a coffee and a stroll.
Now accepting car keys as a deposit for a coffee when you go surf 😉

Fresh week, fresh roast.
Our green beans stacked up ready for their transition into something decadent.
Before roasting, these beans look like peanuts, and sometimes even smell like them too.
As they enter the roaster, the first notes we receive is something like pop corn. Then comes the real magic. After some time, each bean expresses its true flavour and out comes this complex roasted bean that makes the best morning drink you can think of.
Come and see for yourself.
Yours truly,
Coffee Guy
