The origin of the ”pão de queijo” is unknown. It is said that during the 18th century, slaves would serve bread with coffee to their masters but the flour available to them was not good so they substituted it for tapioca….and the pão de queijo was born 😊

Our last workshop was such a treat! We made a traditional Moqueca Baiana with a BEAUTIFUL Red Roman supplied by ABALOBI, pirão de peixe made from our very own fish stock and a most delicious batida de coco.
Our next and last workshop, the Brazilian Braai, is at the end of the month. Yes, it is different from the South African braai. Yes it is better ( :p). Stay tuned for date.
