Better late than never!
In all of yesterday’s chaos and busyness, I completely missed posting a very important milestone.
Two years ago yesterday, Marquin Brikkels joined our little team—which, up until then, was just me, his wife Hencia Brikkels , and his sister Lindsay Brikkels .
I was incredibly nervous about hiring another staff member, even though it had gotten to a point where I could no longer manage 'front of house' alone.
Having run this small business entirely on my own for so long, letting someone else in felt like a massive risk.
But from the very first day, he proved me completely wrong.
I haven't regretted it for a single second!
It feels like Marquin has been with us forever.
It might sound like a total cliché, but there is truly no better way to put it: HE IS WORTH HIS WEIGHT IN GOLD!
He is completely trustworthy and always brings the best humor and energy to the shop.
Even on the days he isn't feeling well—which I usually only find out about after the fact—he still shows up with a smile and gives it his all.
I cannot thank my lucky stars enough for the day he walked into our lives and became part of this Chapter.
Thank you, Marquin, for everything you do for us and our customers. We love you and appreciate you more than words can say! ☕✨

✨ To ensure you survive the week with zero drama, please follow this official Closed-Week Survival Strategy:
🌟Stock up on fuel: We are fully loaded with beans and ground coffee so your home stash doesn't run dry.
🌟Hoard the baked goods: Grab our artisanal quiches and muffins—they freeze perfectly for emergency reheating! 🥧
🌟Practice deep breathing: When you accidentally drive here out of habit next week, just take a breath, look at the closed sign, and remember we still love you. 🧘♂️

Hoping everyone had a lovely 'Second Chance Monday'!☕✨
We were closed yesterday for Women's Day, but we were back today and it was so lovely to see you all again!
Running a small business comes with its learning curves.
Recently, I forgot to update our hours on one social media platform, which led to a one-star review and a bit of a stir.

From prepping ingredients to baking masterpieces—look at Lindsay go! 👩🍳✨
We are so incredibly proud to celebrate her amazing journey.
Lindsay started out helping us with basic kitchen prep work, and today, she is baking and icing these gorgeous cakes completely from start to finish! 🎂
Today, she learnt all about icing and ganache techniques from my mom, and turns out, she's a complete natural!
