Dear customers, As of midnight 27 June, South Africa was moved to an adjusted Lockdown Level 4 to contain the spread of the coronavirus. In order to comply with the latest regulation, the restaurant will only open for takeaway from 12am-8pm for the next 14 days. Please call 0216859692 for your takeaway order. Hi everyone!
Thaiyashi will, for the moment, be closed on Mondays during Level 1. Just to give our hard working chef and staff a nice day off.
Our trading hour under Level 1 is as below:
Monday - Closed
Tue-Sat 11:30 - 21:00
Sunday 11:30 - 20:30
(Kitchen close 30 mins before trading hour)
This is only temporary and we will return to normal service soon.

FINALLY, WE ARE BACK!!!!
We are open from Friday 11 Sep!!
It has been a really long time since lockdown Day 1. We missed you!
Sit down are welcome but please make a booking with us to avoid any disappointment as we only offer limited seating space to ensure safe social distance.
Our regular delivery partners will be on hand to get your food orders promptly delivered to you under full Covid 19 Compliance and Safety Measures.

We miss the food so much like everyone else does.
We are really sorry that we are still closed. We were planning to open last week. However due to the confirmed positive cases of COVID 19 are increasing in the community since Level 3 started, Our management team decided to extend our opening date to a further date.
Our customer and staff’s health and safety is always the first priority to us. We would like to keep everyone safe and feel comfortable when they coming to the restaurant. Therefore we decide to close for a little bit longer but we promise it won’t be too long.
We really hope to see everyone soon!

Dear customer
We really appreciate your continuous support in the past few weeks.
After we watched the President's speech last night, we decided to temporarily close Thaiyashi from today, 24 Mar, until further notice. We will still look after our staff and pay them.
We hope you can still support us when we come back from the lockdown. And will see you all soon again when the situation is under control.
Here are some tips for everyone
- Stay home. Make sure everyone you know takes the lockdown seriously
- Wash your hands over 20seconds
- Wear face mask and gloves to protect yourself and others when you go out
- Only go out when it is necessary
- Sanitize yourself or your belongings once you come back home
- Stay calm, don't trust any unofficial news

To reach the Newlands Quarter where these restaurants are located, you can take a train to Newlands Station and then walk for about 10 minutes. Alternatively, you can take a bus to Main Road/Newlands (stop ID 1840013) and then walk for approximately 5 minutes.
If you are driving, head towards Newlands Avenue from the M3 highway and then turn onto Dean Street. There is parking available at the Newlands Quarter.
