Lucy's Tea & Confectionary is a caterer located in Cape Town that operates permanently from the V&A Food Market, seven days a week, and every Saturday at The Oranjezicht City Farm Market at Granger Bay, with an exclusive menu of homemade products and beautifully decorated children's biscuits. In addition to their signature dish - Lucy's English Cream Tea served only in Fine Bone China using genuine Clotted Cream, they also offer exceptionally beautiful Macarons and Nougat made especially for them by Daniela’s, Brownies and Biscotti Bites made by La Petite Moo, and Juice Box Seasonal fruit juices. To get to The Old Pumphouse in Cape Town via public transportation, take the train to the Observatory Station. From there, walk towards the river and cross over the bridge. Turn left and walk along the riverfront until you reach The Old Pumphouse.
For those driving, parking is available on site at The Old Pumphouse. Enter into GPS or mapping software 4 Dock Rd, V & A Waterfront to find the location.

Lucy's Tea & Confectionary is a delightful caterer located in The Old Pumphouse at Cape Town's V&A Food Market. This charming tea garden offers homemade products that are simply delicious. Their macarons and nougat, made by Daniela's, are beautifully presented and taste divine. La Petite Moo provides their brownies and biscotti bites which are also a must-try. Children will love the beautifully decorated biscuits that are available too.
Lucy's signature dish is their English Cream Tea, served only in fine bone china using genuine clotted cream. If you've never tried it before, be prepared for the treacle consistency, yellow color, and thick crust of the clotted cream - these are all signs of genuine clotted cream made from high-fat cream from Jersey breed cows. There are two regional variations to a genuine English Cream Tea: Devonshire style (cream first followed by jam) or Cornish style (jam first followed by cream).
In addition to their delicious treats, Lucy's also stocks Juice Box Seasonal fruit juices which make for a refreshing drink on a hot day. With permanent operations at V&A Food Market seven days a week and appearances at Oranjezicht City Farm Market every Saturday and Kirstenbosch Craft Market every last Sunday of the month during summer months, Lucy's Tea & Confectionary is definitely worth visiting for an authentic English tea experience in Cape Town.
