We wish to inform our customers that Yeh Dosti will be closing on 15 December 2020.
We would like to thank all those who supported us from the beginning - 6 years ago, as well as the many customers who continued to support us when we reopened during the lockdown until now.
This year has posed many challenges not only to ourselves and our staff, but to our country and the world during this global pandemic.
The decision to close at this time was not taken lightly, however, as the future of the economy remains uncertain, we feel that it is in our best interests to stop trading for now.
We want to take this opportunity to wish everyone a safe and peaceful festive season and hope that you will continue to take the necessary precautions to remain healthy and protected from COVID 19.
We will keep this page open temporarily for any future updates.
Thank you,
Yeh Dosti Team

Masala: A mixture of ground spices used in 99% of Indian cooking.
There are different types of masala ranging from Garam Masala, Biryani Masala to Tandoori Masala and many more.
Growing up in Durban the aroma of food cooking in various households in our neighbourhood was the norm. You would walk past any house and the beautiful fragrances of various dishes would waft through the air. It gave us as kids a feeling of security, love and being part of a greater community.
Indians came to SA as indentured labourers in 1860. Being so far away from home and on a different continent, there was a lack of certain ingredients needed to make the same spice blend as South and North India. With the small variety of spices available, the recipe was adapted and it was then that a mixture of the famous Durban Masala was born.

What people say
Indian restaurants are known for their rich and diverse flavors that tantalize the taste buds. Yeh Dosti - Durban Curry in Cape Town is no exception. This Indian take-away restaurant specializes in Durban-style curries, rotis, biryanis, bunny chows, samoosas, and homemade pickles.
What sets Yeh Dosti apart from other Indian restaurants is its unique blend of spices and ingredients that create a distinct flavor profile. The Durban-style curry is a must-try for anyone who loves Indian food. The rotis are soft and fluffy, perfect for soaking up the delicious curry sauce.
The biryanis are another standout dish at Yeh Dosti. They are cooked to perfection with fragrant spices and tender meat or vegetables. And let's not forget about the famous bunny chows - a South African street food staple that consists of a hollowed-out loaf of bread filled with curry.
Sadly, Yeh Dosti announced on social media that they will be closing their doors on December 15th, 2020 due to economic uncertainty caused by the global pandemic. However, we want to thank them for providing us with delicious food for the past six years and wish them all the best in their future endeavors.
If you're looking for authentic Durban-style Indian cuisine in Cape Town, be sure to visit Yeh Dosti before they close their doors. You won't regret it!
