In Vietnam, Tết Trung Thu- Mid Autumn festival was seen as a special time for reunion and harmony. Once a year, families and relatives would gather to relax, sing songs and drink tea under the light of the full moon. Children would look forward to staying up late, carrying star lanterns in the dark, and listening for the drums of lion dancers. Square mooncakes representing the earth and round mooncakes representing the sky were the perfect treat on this magical night.

Home made Vietnamese Baguette.
Vietnam was colonized by the French for six decades and this has had a very noticeable influence on Vietnamese food. You may notice a lot of similarities between Vietnamese and French cuisine that you don’t see in the food of many other Asian countries.
This Vietnamese version of the French bread has a crisp, thin crust with a delightfully cottony soft and chewy inside.
A typical Vietnamese Baguette or sandwich is a fusion of meats and vegetables from native Vietnamese cuisine such as chả lụa (pork sausage or Vietnamese Ham), coriander leaf, cucumber, pickled carrots and pickled daikon (or white radish) combined with condiments from French cuisine such as pate along with hot chilli and mayonneaise.
