Nostalgia in every bite. Some dishes earn a following. Our Head Chef Matt’s chicken wings are one of them.
If you’ve been part of Atlantic Beach for a while, you’ll remember how quickly these used to disappear. Now they’re back on the Chef’s Daily Heroes board at Sunbird Restaurant, with an Asian-inspired twist.
Teriyaki Glazed Chicken Wings: sticky, savoury and full of flavour, served with a fresh Asian peanut side salad for that perfect balance of sweet, salty, crunchy and fresh.
Missed them the first time around? Consider this your second chance. Trust us, you’ll want to take it.

Curry Night was all about Signature Chef Scott’s blend of spices.
Friends and family catching up over a shared plate. The table that started as two and grew as neighbours walked past and pulled up chairs. The same faces, back again, at Sunbird Restaurant.

To get to the location on Fairway Drive in Melkbosstrand, one option for public transportation is to take a bus or train to the Melkbosstrand station and then walk or take a taxi/Uber to the location. For those driving, take the R27 West Coast Road towards Melkbosstrand, turn left onto Otto du Plessis Drive, turn right onto Atlantic Road and then turn left onto Fairway Drive. Parking is available on the street near the location.
