Dear October, it’s not you. It’s us.
You’ve given us plenty to talk about, a few unforgettable moments, some very long days and probably more coffee than we’d care to admit!
But after 31 days together, we think it’s time to move on.
November, we’re ready for you! Although, if you could be a little less dramatic and a little more generous with the weekends, we’d really appreciate it.
Here’s to finishing October with a smile, a good coffee and a sense of humour!

2027 is already looking delicious!
Fresh ingredients, juicy chicken, crunchy veggies and loads of flavour!
We’re busy testing some exciting new dishes for our 2027 BeHuman menu, and this chicken salad is definitely a winner!
As the official taste-tester, I can confirm it’s a tough job but someone’s got to do it!

Funny how life works, isn’t it?
The mornings you wish you could sleep in. The endless lifts, the forgotten lunchboxes, the rushing from one place to another. The same conversations, the same jokes, the same people you see almost every day.
And then, somewhere down the line, you realise those were actually some pretty special days.
Not because everything was perfect. Far from it!
But because of the people who were part of them.
The friends you laughed with, the familiar faces, the little routines and those quick coffee stops that somehow turned into half-hour conversations.
We spend so much time looking forward to the next thing that we sometimes forget how much we’ll miss what we have right now.
So here’s to the ordinary days. The messy ones, the busy ones and the ones that don’t seem particularly special at all.
They might just be the ones we remember most.

Sometimes the swaps coffee for something a little different!
And this time, we’re loving what’s coming out of the window!
Our little has had a change of personality for KAMERS/Makers at Allee Bleue W**e Estate, with the amazing team from Two In A Bush taking over and serving up their delicious rooibos-inspired drinks, sparkling refreshments and non-alcoholic spritzers.
Same . Different drinks. And a whole lot of lovely people doing what they do best!
We absolutely love seeing our space being used by other local businesses, especially people who put so much heart into what they create.
So if you’re popping into KAMERS, go and say hello to the Two in a Bush team, try something delicious and show them some love!
Don’t worry, though. We haven’t given up on coffee. Some things are simply non-negotiable!

COACHES WEDNESDAY
It’s easy to celebrate the good days. The winning try, the personal best, the great report card or the exam that went better than expected.
But what about the other days?
The match you wish you could play again. The exam that didn’t go to plan. The days when you just don’t feel like you’ve got much left to give.
Those are the days when the people in your corner really matter.
The coach who stays behind for another conversation. The teacher who takes the time to explain something again. The friend who notices you’re a little quieter than usual. And the parent who somehow knows when you need advice and when you just need something to eat.
With our Matrics still writing finals and the rest of the boys heading into exam season, there’s probably a little more pressure than usual in quite a few Boishaai households.
So today, a little appreciation for the people who keep showing up for our boys, even when things aren’t going brilliantly.
Sometimes all it takes is someone saying, “Come, let’s have a coffee and talk about it.”

A huge shoutout to create_met_uys and . You guys take creativity to another level! From the smallest details to the biggest ideas, it’s always such a pleasure working alongside people who genuinely love what they do.
We’re big believers in supporting local, working together and making celebrations a little more special.
You bring the magic, we’ll bring the food, the coffee and a whole lot of heart!

Is it just us, or has October been going on forever?
Between school, sport, exams, studying and everything else, we’re pretty sure everyone in Paarl is ready for November!
The Matrics are still busy with finals, the younger boys are getting ready for their exams, and somewhere there’s a parent trying to explain something they haven’t looked at since their own school days.
And let’s not forget the famous conversation happening in households everywhere:
“Have you studied?”
“Yes, Mom.”
“Are you sure?”
“YES, MOM!”
We know this time of year can get a bit much. So here’s your reminder to take a break now and then, have a laugh, grab something to eat and enjoy a decent cup of coffee.
November is almost here. We’ll get there!
And to all the parents keeping the coffee industry alive during exam season we appreciate you!

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN IN THE HUMANS’ KITCHEN!
It started with coffee and slush.
And then came the sandwiches. Our very first food item, made right there in the Humans’ family kitchen!
Nothing fancy. Just fresh sandwiches, made with love, plenty of hard work and probably a kitchen that looked like a production line on busy mornings!
Little did we know where those sandwiches would take us.
From coffee and slush to sandwiches, and eventually to everything you see at today.
The menu has grown. The team has grown. We’ve learned a lot along the way, and we’re still learning.
But the heart behind it all? That’s exactly where it started.
Good food, great coffee and people who genuinely care.
Sometimes we get so caught up in what’s next that we forget to look back at where it all began.
And those sandwiches? They’ll always have a special place in our story.

MONDAY. THE FINAL ROUND OF OCTOBER!
Seriously, how are we STILL in October?!
Between Matric farewells, final exams, school runs, tennis, cricket, concerts, homework, early mornings and everything else squeezed into the calendar, this month has certainly made itself at home!
And just when you think things might slow down someone reminds you it’s nearly November.
To our Matrics still tackling their finals, keep going, boys! We’re right behind you.
To the younger boys preparing for exams, the teachers keeping everyone on track, and the parents who have practically moved into their cars, hang in there!
At this point, we’re convinced half of Paarl is running on coffee, calendar reminders and pure determination.
But what a month it’s been. Busy, beautiful, a little chaotic and full of the moments that make this community so special.
One last week, October. Let’s make it a good one!

HELLO, FRIDAY!
The schoolbags are a little heavier, the parents are a little more tired, and the coffee orders are getting a little stronger.
But we’re almost there!
Good luck to our athletes taking part in the Curro Podium event today and tomorrow, and to the boys preparing for Saturday’s cricket against Paul Roos.
To our Matrics, keep those heads down. One exam at a time, boys!
And to the parents who thought October might be a quieter month, we hope you’ve learned your lesson by now.

THOUGHTFUL THURSDAY
We spend so much time teaching our children to achieve, compete, work hard and make something of themselves.
And all of that matters.
But there’s something else worth teaching them.
How to make the new boy feel welcome.
How to include someone who doesn’t quite fit in.
How to have a laugh without making somebody else the joke.
Because being popular isn’t quite the same as being someone people feel safe around.
At Kraggies CC, some of our favourite moments happen over an ordinary cup of coffee, when people feel comfortable enough to sit down, talk and simply be themselves.

To get to Old Paarl Road in Paarl, you can take public transport by using the train or bus services that operate in the area. The nearest train station is Paarl Station, which is about 2.5 km away from Old Paarl Road. From there, you can take a taxi or walk to your destination.
