Behind every great coffee is a lot of work nobody sees.
While most people see the finished cup, we see the early mornings, the cleaning, the servicing and the attention to detail that keeps everything running smoothly.
Today, Mr Fixit is in his happy place, making sure our machines are ready to do what they do best.
Because great coffee doesn’t happen by accident. It happens when people care enough to get the small things right.
That’s how we’ve always done it.

Coaches Wednesday
This week’s theme is the Airport Theory - a reminder that opportunities rarely wait for us to feel ready.
For coaches, leaders, parents, teachers, and mentors, that lesson matters.
The people we guide are often standing at their own gates, facing uncertainty and self-doubt. They don’t need someone with all the answers. They need someone who believes in them enough to take the first step. Give the a direct answer.
Great coaches don’t remove challenges, they help people find the courage to face them.
As you enjoy your coffee today, think about someone who may be hesitating at the gate. Your encouragement, belief, or simple conversation could be exactly what they need to seize their next opportunity.
Leadership isn’t about being the smartest person in the room. It’s about helping others discover what they’re capable of becoming.

Since 2007, we’ve believed in one simple vision:
Create a space and they will come.
Not just a tuckshop. Not just a coffee stop.
A space where people feel welcome, seen and part of something.
Our motto has always carried us:
BeCool • BeKind • BeHuman
In 2026, that still means good coffee, ice-cold slush, quality food, fair prices and people who care about getting the small things right.
Because when the space feels right, people come back.

Team Talk Tuesday
Yesterday, we spoke about boarding the plane before you feel completely ready. Today, let’s talk about one of the biggest reasons people never leave the gate: perfectionism.
Perfection has a way of disguising itself as preparation. It tells us we need a little more time, a little more knowledge, or one more revision before we’re ready to move. But while we’re polishing and perfecting, opportunities are often moving forward without us.
The Airport Theory reminds us that growth doesn’t happen because everything is perfect. It happens because we take action despite the imperfections.
The most successful people, teams, and leaders aren’t those who got everything right from the start. They’re the ones who were willing to begin, adjust, learn, and improve along the journey.
As you enjoy your coffee today, ask yourself:
What would I start if I stopped waiting for it to be perfect?
Because progress has always been a better companion than perfection.

The humble ham, cheese and tomato toastie deserves its moment.
A true tuckshop staple. Simple, familiar and exactly what you want when you need something warm, filling and made properly.
Ours is toasted golden, packed with ham, tomato and real cheese that actually melts the way it should. No fuss. Just good food done right.

Another week. Another cup of coffee. Another opportunity to choose courage over comfort.
The theme for this week is simple: The Airport Theory. Opportunities don’t wait until we feel ready. They don’t pause while we build confidence, gather more certainty, or convince ourselves we’re capable. They leave when they leave.
Too often, we stand at the gate overthinking the next step, waiting for the perfect moment. But growth has never required perfection—only the willingness to board.
As you start your week, ask yourself: What opportunity am I delaying because I’m waiting to feel ready?
Take the step. Start the conversation. Submit the idea. Make the call. Trust that you’ll learn what you need once you’re in the air.
After all, the people who move forward aren’t always the most prepared. They’re often just the ones willing to begin.

Games rarely unfold the way you think they will.
Yesterday was a reminder of that for
There were moments when we were chasing the game. Moments when things weren’t going our way. Moments when the easy option would have been to drop heads.
Instead, the boys kept coming.
That’s what stood out.
Not perfection. Not a flawless performance. Just a group willing to keep fighting for each other when it mattered most.
School rugby has a way of testing more than skill.
It tests character, belief and how a team responds when things get uncomfortable.
Yesterday, the boys answered that challenge.
Proud of the fight. Proud of the comeback. Proud of the people behind the jersey.

Thoughtful Thursday.
Maybe growing older is just learning to appreciate the simple things a little more.
A slower morning. A quiet cup of coffee. Good people around the table. A moment where life feels calm, even just for a while.
In a world that constantly tells us to rush, chase and do more, don’t underestimate the value of peace. Sometimes that really is the good stuff.

Coaches Wednesday.
People see the game plan, the team talks and the decisions on the sidelines. What they don’t always see is the quiet work behind it all. The early mornings, the conversations after tough losses, the constant effort to keep a group believing in themselves and each other.
That’s what good coaches really do. They build belief long before the whistle blows.

Tuesday feels a little softer after a weekend like we’ve had.
The noise settles, the schedules start again and somehow the first coffee makes everything feel a bit more manageable.
No big speeches today. Just take a breath, get through the day and keep showing up for the people around you. That’s enough.

That’s the thing about big games.
They can hurt, but still leave you proud.
People will speak about the scoreline, the moments that shifted the game and the result that could have gone differently. That’s part of sport, especially in a fixture like Paarl Boys vs Paul Roos where every moment feels heavy.
But what stays with you afterwards is something else.
The way the boys kept showing up for each other. The way the sidelines stayed loud until the final whistle.
The pride of wearing the jersey in a game that still means so much to so many people.
Weeks like this remind you why school sport matters.
Not because it’s always easy or because it always goes your way, but because of what it asks from people and what it gives back in return.
Proud of the fight. Proud of the brotherhood. Proud to still be part of weekends like these.

Pens out. Boots ready. Coffee brewing.
Exams on the desks. SACS on the fixture list. Late nights studying, training and everyone trying to keep up with life one coffee at a time.
But somehow these are the weeks people remember most. The busy ones. The stressful ones. The ones where teammates, classmates, parents and coaches all pull together a little more.
So here’s to patience, showing up and another refill before the next thing starts.

Friday night lights.
The hockey guys are making people sit up and take notice.
A win over Grey. A draw against the current number 1 team in the country, Paul Roos. And from what people are saying, it’s not just the results turning heads, it’s the fight, the structure and the belief this group plays with.
There’s a lot being written about the intensity of school hockey right now, and this weekend proved our boys belong in those conversations.
What makes it even better is the way they carry themselves. Calm under pressure, backing each other and refusing to fold when the game gets tough. That’s the stuff people remember long after the final score.
Proud feels like an understatement.

Big weekends bring a different kind of energy. Early mornings, packed fields, familiar faces and enough nerves to make everyone suddenly need another coffee.
Even if it’s not a coffee this weekend, the ritual stays the same. Warm hands, loud sidelines and good people backing each other all the way.
Away games have their own magic. The road trips, the gees, the shared moments and the memories that somehow stay with you long after the final whistle.
So here’s the plan: stay calm, enjoy the weekend and refill the coffee whenever you can.

Thoughtful Thursday.
A season is never built in one big moment.
It’s built in the ordinary days, early mornings, tired eyes, exam pressure, quiet effort and people choosing to keep showing up anyway.
Before the crowds on Saturday and before the noise around big games, there’s this part of the journey.
The unseen part.
The discipline.
The preparation.
The character being built when nobody is clapping.
Good teams grow in the spotlight.
Great teams grow in the ordinary moments.
And through it all … coffee helps.

Coaches Wednesday.
Sometimes coaching has very little to do with tactics or scoreboards.
Sometimes it’s just about standing next to a young man long enough for him to believe in himself again.
Before the noise of Paul Roos, before the big moments and the pressure, this is the part that matters most: trust, respect and people who never stop showing up for each other.
As exams continue and another massive Saturday waits ahead, this is a reminder that rugby is still about more than results.
It’s about people first. Always.
And somewhere in between all of that … there’s always good coffee too.

It started with rugby fields, muddy boots and a nickname that stuck.
Now it’s coffee, slush, long weekends, school sport and creating spaces where people feel welcome.
“Kraggies” was Andries Human’s rugby nickname long before it became part of our story.
Sport taught us about people first - community, connection, showing up for one another. That same spirit still drives everything we do today.
was never just a brand idea.
It became a reminder that behind every cup, every event and every sideline conversation, people matter most.
From rugby fields to coffee queues … still proudly human.

Our Tuesday reminder.
In a week filled with exams, expectations and a big Saturday waiting in the distance, staying grounded matters.
Keep learning.
Keep improving.
Keep showing up quietly and doing the work.
A good reminder that pressure means very little without humility, discipline and perspective.
Because the strongest people are usually the ones who stay humble enough to know there is always more to learn.
And maybe that’s why the coffee tastes a little better this week too.

There are games you remember for the score.
And then there are games you remember for the feeling.
This was one of those days at Brug Street. Hoër Jongenskool Paarl Boys' High School against Hoërskool Stellenberg
The kind where the tackles shake the touchline. Where boys run until there’s nothing left in the legs. Where every jersey comes back heavier with mud, sweat and pride.
What stood out most wasn’t only the rugby. It was the way this Boishaai side stayed in the fight together. The way they backed each other after mistakes. The way the younger boys watched from the sidelines with wide eyes, already dreaming about their turn one day.
You could feel it around the field - this team is changing.
Not overnight. Not through hype.
Through hard Saturdays, tough lessons and small moments slowly building belief.
And maybe that’s why these photos say so much.
The courage in the carries.
The silence before the kick.
The pain after the collisions.
The embrace after giving everything for the badge.
Rugby at schools like this has never only been about winning.
It’s about becoming.
Becoming tougher.
Becoming humbler.
Becoming brothers.
And somewhere between the noise of the crowd and the mountains standing quietly in the background, a group of boys became a little more sure of who they are.

Monday feels a little quieter this week.
Exams are starting, coffee cups are fuller than usual and there’s a big Saturday waiting at the end of it all.
But before the crowds, the noise and the rugby; there are learners sitting with notes, trying their best, carrying pressure in different ways.
That’s what school is really about first. Showing up. Learning. Growing. Supporting each other through all of it.
One step at a time this week.
One exam at a time.
One coffee at a time.
