We’re spending the day with Sasja and Liza from Wings with Roots, talking about something that doesn’t always get attention in hospitality - how to stay steady when things get busy.
Because what you experience at Damhuis isn’t only about the food or the view. It’s how you’re greeted at the door, how a fully booked night is handled, how a small problem is sorted without fuss.
That kind of service takes more than good systems. It takes self-awareness. And the skills to deal with pressure properly.
We want you to feel looked after - even when the restaurant is full and the kitchen is flying.
So today we’re learning practical ways to manage stress before it shows up in how we lead and how we serve.

💫 Breaking news: Damhuis has opened a second branch… and there are no bookings required. 🇿🇦
We were invited to sponsor a playhouse as part of a community initiative by Melkbos Pre Primary, and naturally, we gave it a little Damhuis character.
We love supporting our community and showing up in ways that make a meaningful contribution.
Rumour has it the new menu includes mud-pie tastings, sandpit specials and tea parties😜

For the family-style restaurant and seafood restaurant located on Beach Road in Melkbosstrand, both public transport and driving options are available.
If you're driving, take the R27 towards Melkbosstrand and turn onto Otto du Plessis Drive. Continue going straight until you reach Beach Road, where you will turn right. Look for parking along Beach Road or nearby side streets.
If taking public transport, take the MyCiTi bus to the Melkbosstrand stop. From there it is only a short walk down to Beach Road where you will find the restaurant.
For the family style restaurant and South African restaurant located on Beach Road in Melkbosstrand, both public transport and driving options are also available.
