At De Vrije Burger we honour our inner cravings and nostalgia. Introducing, the limited edition De Vrije Tjip roll. We’ve all had them, we all love them. What’s not to love about carb-on-carb?
Our Tjip roll has our legendary burger sauce, salt and vinegar tjips and cheese with a choice of sweet mustard or chili Mayo.

The World Cup kicks off today and we're celebrating the only way we know how, with a proper South African classic: the limited edition De Vrije Kota burger. 🇿🇦⚽
Inspired by the ultimate SA street food - the Kota - our version at least, is loaded with burger sauce, BBQ-dusted tjips, sweet mustard, smoked chili, a 180g free-range beef patty, double cheese and 2 fried cheese chipolatas.
All in a handmade bun. For R165.

With our latest special edition, we are honouring the South African classic, the Kota.
This classic South African street-food (also known as a sphatlo or patro) traditionally consists of a quarter loaf stuffed with slap chips, polony, russians, egg and atchar.
However, the De Vrije Burger Kota is a little different, obviously, it is a burger. Our burger kota will be filled with burger sauce, BBQ-dusted tjips, sweet mustard, smoked chili, our 180g free range beef patty, double cheese and 2 fried cheese chipolatas.

To get to the location on Drostdy Street in Stellenbosch, you can take a public transport bus or taxi to the Stellenbosch CBD. From there, walk towards Drostdy Street until you reach the destination.
If driving, take the N2 highway towards Stellenbosch and exit onto Adam Tas Road. Continue straight until you reach Merriman Avenue and turn right. Follow Merriman Avenue until you reach Dorp Street and turn left. Continue straight until you reach Drostdy Street and turn right.
