We have made an incredibly difficult decision, to close the restaurant tonight ! As much as we hate to disappoint the guests that have booked we cannot in good conscience risk the safety of our staff, and they are scared !
The violence that surrounds the taxi strike happening today is a real, terrifying and awful thing that affects the vast majority of our city’s residents making a simple thing like going to work properly dangerous.
Please email us [email protected] if we haven’t managed to get hold of you and you would like to rebook for a alternate evening

It's time ! Another 'dark notes' tiny concert... the last for this winter, we had such a good time with these two legends last time around we decided to do it all over again ! @laudoliebenberg
Laudo Liebenberg and Frank Freeman started their musical collaboration when they did the critically acclaimed production EET KREEF!
Herleef together in 2019. After successfully touring this production and receiving a KykNet Fiesta award for best musical production, they're now coming together to do a special stripped down show made up out of music from both of their respective personal projects as well as stripped down arrangements of the EET KREEEF!
Herleef production. Fresh arrangements of Laudo's well known aKING material as well as his solo projects & stripped down arrangements of Frank's alternative group VOLK's material, form a show that blends the old and the new in a very intimate and raw manner.
Tickets are R250 for the concert or if you feel like a Black Sheep Dinner before hand you can buy a ticket for dinner and the show for R450.
Tickets are limited so if you are keen don't delay, tickets available on Quicket (link in our bio)
We look forward to seeing you all for excellent Monkey Shoulder cocktails inspired by our sponsors Monkey Sours, Ginger Monkeys, and Margarita el Jumidor.
To be added to our mailing list for upcoming events DM us .
Tag us in a pic of you at The Dark Horse and stand a chance of winning a free Monkey Shoulder cocktail on the night of the concert
