Although Vredenburg Manor House is 226 years old, we have absolutely NO ghosts! 👻
Why?
Well… they left after we politely explained that free lodging is not included in the afterlife. 😂
Even though we offer some great winter specials, there is one rule that applies to everyone — no one stays for free!
The ghosts weren't particularly impressed. They packed their little suitcases, climbed out of the windows and disappeared into the night. 👻🧳
So, if you're looking for a peaceful winter escape in the Cape Winelands, you can rest assured…
There are no ghosts at Vredenburg Manor House — just beautiful rooms, beautiful gardens and very much alive guests! 😉
🌿 Come stay with us this winter.

To get to Winery Road in Stellenbosch, you can take the public transport bus that stops at the intersection of Winery Road and the main road. Alternatively, if you are driving, take the N2 highway towards Stellenbosch and exit onto Baden Powell Drive. Continue straight until you reach a T-junction and turn left onto Annandale Road. Follow this road until you reach a roundabout, take the second exit onto R44 and continue straight until you see Winery Road on your right-hand side. There is parking available on Winery Road or at nearby establishments.

Vredenburg Manor House is a luxurious guest house that offers an unparalleled experience in the heart of the Cape Winelands. Dating back to the 1800s, this Cape Dutch styled guest house is located on Winery Road Somerset West and is only thirty kilometers from the Cape Town International airport, making it a perfect location to either start or end your holiday.
The guest house features five spacious rooms and two cottages that are elegantly decorated with comfortable super king-size beds, pure three hundred thread-count Egyptian cotton bedding, ample seating, satellite TV with more than twenty channels, coffee stations with an espresso machine, and a minibar fridge. All rooms and cottages are air-conditioned and have underfloor heating.
Guests can enjoy an exotic garden watered by borehole and greywater, an outdoor swimming pool with lots of space to soak up the sun and enjoy a view of the Hottentot’s Holland Mountain Range. The property is also close to a variety of restaurants and bars in Stellenbosch and Somerset-West.
