Remembering two very special souls this September 🕊️🤍
Our Ben & our Mr. T ❤️
September will always be a month filled with memories for the Dixies family.
On 6 September, we remember our beautiful Ben, and on 10 September, our Rein Tuzee — also known as Oubaas, Mr T, Dad and Oupa. 💙
Two incredible people who each left such a special mark on Dixies and on everyone lucky enough to have known them.
Ben, with his heart full of light, always lifting spirits, spreading kindness and seeing the best in everyone. Your love, laughter and colourful spirit live on, especially in Ben’s Boma — a little corner of Dixies filled with the warmth and positive energy that was so uniquely you. 🌈☀️
And Rein, the pillar of Dixies. We miss your hospitality, your warm smile, your kind heart and the presence that made so many people feel at home. ❤️
We know the two of you are together somewhere, watching over us and beaming with pride at how far Dixies has come. 🕊️
The years may continue to pass, but some people simply never leave us. They live on in the stories we tell, the memories we share, the places they helped create and, most importantly, in our hearts.

Our new Delft-inspired wall is a celebration of the beautiful blue-and-white tradition that has been part of Dutch culture for centuries. 🤍
Delftware is known for its delicate designs, from flowers and landscapes to scenes of everyday life — each one capturing a little piece of history.
We wanted to bring that sense of heritage, craftsmanship and storytelling into Dixies, creating a feature that feels both timeless and at home in our space.

We’ve been busy behind the scenes giving the place a little refresh, making some exciting changes and getting everything ready for you!
We can’t wait to welcome you all back and show you what we’ve been working on. There’s nothing better than a fresh new look, a little bit of sparkle and getting everything ready for another year at Dixies! 💪

There’s a reason they’re called Jan’s Bitterballen. 💙
Golden, crispy, deep-fried perfection with a rich, savoury filling of slow-cooked beef, fragrant herbs, and creamy béchamel, served with a generous dollop of German mustard. 😍
But these aren’t just any bitterballen. They’re named after Jan, Tineke & Ben's brother—who spent countless hours perfecting the recipe, tirelessly tweaking the consistency until every bite was just right. His passion, patience, and dedication are what make this dish so special. 🥰
Jan is now sharing his culinary talents in Australia, and while we miss having him in our kitchen, a part of him will always remain here at Dixies. Every serving of Jan’s Bitterballen is a tribute to the chef who created them and the memories we continue to share. 💙

This special dessert is named after our beloved Ben and is based on Rein Tuzee's treasured recipe. 🤍
Ben loved making this pie, and every time he used to bake one, he'd always cut a slice to share with the chefs in the kitchen—a simple tradition that brought smiles to everyone around him. 💙
Today, we continue that tradition by serving this much-loved pie, made with the same care and warmth. We hope every slice brings you a little taste of home.

Directions to Main Road in Simon's Town can be accessed through public transport by taking a train to Simon's Town station, or by taking a bus and disembarking at the Simon's Town Main Road stop. The seafood restaurant and steakhouse is just a few minutes' walk from the station/bus stop.
For those driving and parking, take the M4 highway and follow the signs towards Simon's Town until you reach Main Road. There is ample parking available along Main Road for visitors to the area.
